Mt Eden American Ash Flooring

Every kiwi dreams of it, the big OE. Some whilst on their dream over seas trip find them selves in love, get married and settle down. But eventually things change and the pull back home to New Zealand is too much, home wards bound and back to good old kiwiana.

This couple packed all their worldly belongings in Europe into a container for shipping then flew homeward to Auckland. Upon arrival they soon purchased an apartment in Mt Eden. Due to the warmer weather they decided to remove the carpet and install new timber flooring in their new home.

They Googled Flooring Specialists Auckland, which is where Nufloors 4 U comes in. We arrived on site to do the measure and we asked the usual questions, Yes.. yes We can do it.

American Ash timber flooring was chosen.  With a profile of 13mm thick it looks extremely nice as a modern timber floor.  American oak timber flooring usually is 19 mm thick, if installed a new front door would have had to be installed so the lower 13 mm profile was chosen to fit under the front door.  Now to the timber flooring process.. first up, out with the old carpet onto our trailer and off to the dump. Next the sub floor need to be moisture checked, no concerns were identified so the next step was to grind the concrete to ensure good adhesion. Finally an epoxy sealer was applied to the concrete to protect from moisture.

Once dry the American ash timber flooring was lifted into the apartment, our timber flooring installation team was in action. Our floor laying specialists always direct stick the floorboards. A little over a day, the flooring was installed.

The final process of course is the floor sanding and polishing, being an apartment water based polyurethane was chosen, Our floor sander was bound to the body corporate rules.. no solvent based products. As you can see from the gallery photos American ash timber flooring has a beautiful grain and is a stunning flooring solution. Floor completed, very happy customers with their new floor and their decision to return home.
